Bio

What can I say about me? Well, not a lot, really. I'm a twenty-two-year-old university student from England, currently in my final year of my Degree. I'm studying American Studies with Creative Writing, and yes, I've heard all the jokes about it being a Mickey Mouse course.

What do I like to do for fun? Read and write, mostly. Boring, huh? But it's what I love and I can't imagine doing anything else. Except maybe getting drunk. I do that a lot.

I've been writing for as long as I can remember. I started off writing immensely bad poetry and then moved on to writing immensely bad fanfiction. This was in early 1998, during the first few seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which was my first fandom and my oldest one to date. I was an avid Willow/Angel 'shipper and at the young age of twelve I wrote my first fic in this fandom. And it was bad. Really bad. And it got a lot worse before it got better.

I've moved from fandom to fandom over the years. Some of them I've remained a part of and others I haven't. Some of my oldest fandoms include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, L.J. Smith, Pitch Black, Dark Angel, X-Men and Smallville. I've dipped my toes into the likes of The O.C.. Life As A House, House, Star Wars, FFVII: Advent Children and Supernatural. Currently I'm exploring the waters in the Harry Potter fandom and mixing it up with Smallville/Supernatural crossovers.

You can find most of my work archived here, at my LJ, or at Fanfiction.net.

So now you know the kinds of things I write. So what about the kinds of books I read? It all depends what I'm in the mood for.

If I'm feeling lethargic I tend to go for easy reads. I like a good urban fantasy because they never fail to entertain. I can't get enough of Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld Series, Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan Series and Vikki Petterson's The Sign of the Zodiac Series. L.J. Smith's novels for young adults, which I've been reading since my early teens, are also addictively good, especially The Forbidden Game Trilogy and The Night World Series.

Sometimes I like a good, timeless epic, or even a dark, political fantasy, such as Glenda Noramly's Havenstar or Anne Bishop's The Black Jewels Trilogy.

Other favourites include Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye and Sula, Sandra Cisneros' The House on Mango Street, Martina Cole's Goodnight Lady and Max Barry's Jennifer Government, among others.

Well, I think I've bored you enough already with this crap. If you're truly desperate to know anything else about me, then feel free to drop me a line.
